Application Case: RF Series Helical Bevel Gear Reducer for Water Treatment Agitator

This vertical agitator is equipped with an RF series helical-bevel gear reducer, specially designed for mixing applications in municipal and industrial water treatment plants.

The agitator assembly consists of an IEC electric motor, RF helical-bevel gearbox, vertical solid stirring shaft and two tiers of mixing impellers. It is top-mounted onto the steel support structure above the tank. The reducer delivers stable low-speed, high-torque output to drive the stirring shaft, to complete homogenization, flocculation, suspension mixing and liquid circulation inside the tank.

The RF helical-bevel gear unit features compact footprint, high transmission efficiency, quiet running and robust load capacity. Its sturdy housing and reliable sealing structure can adapt to humid, corrosive working environments common in water treatment workshops. It can continuously bear the radial and axial dynamic loads generated by long stirring shafts and large-diameter impellers during long-time non-stop operation.

For this project, the agitator has a shaft diameter of Ø89, with upper impeller Ø1450 and lower impeller Ø1700. The total submerged shaft length reaches 3790 mm. based on requirements, customer need the motor power of 7.5KW/4p, output speed for 48rpm, need heavy duty working with service factor up to about 3.0, we choose our model RF107-Y7.5kw/4p-30.44, We also provide one stop solution, offering the complete set impeller with shaft as per the drawing. The impeller material can be stainless steel 304 or PE coated steel.

And the impeller blade and shaft can also be rubber coated.

The RF reducer provides steady torque to keep solid particles in suspension, prevent sedimentation, and guarantee consistent mixing performance for flocculation tanks, neutralization tanks or sludge conditioning tanks.

For some project, cycloidal gearbox XLD/BLD series is still the good choice for its cheap cost with standard ratio, sometimes frequency duty motor will be used for speed adjustable need.
